Mine Adit Tunnel Found below college extension, Wakefield

Microdrilling ® at very close spacings of 1m & 1.25m pinpointed the position of a historical underground coal mining adit with assumed 2m diameter running into hillside rising to the right of the image. Approximate adit centreline pierced at 2^nd hole from bottom of image falling between left to right pedestrian way white lines and running parallel to them. Geoinvestigate’s earlier Coal Mining Risk Assessment CMRA identified the tunnel which was holding-up the start of an urgently needed building extension to the College. The adit was found close to where it was predicted by Geoinvestigate.
