Following continuing strong company growth and increasing client wins Geoinvestigate is looking to recruit Geologists, Engineering Geologists, Geotechnical Engineers, Geo-environmental Engineers and Environmental Scientists based in our Windermere/Cumbria or Stokesley/North Yorkshire Offices.
We are looking for Geoscientists to work with us on a broad range of projects involving land contamination, housing development, building subsidence and mining hazard. Both office locations offer the freedom to escape city commutes and live and work instead in a semi-rural environment. The Lake District has recently been awarded World Heritage Status by UNESCO while Stokesley is a charming historic market town set within a stone’s throw from the beautiful North Yorkshire Moors National Park.

Core Skills and Duties
Working with other geologists, geo-environmentalists, environmental scientists and geo-technicians, you will benefit from being part of a larger team of specialists providing geo-consultancy services and undertaking a wide range of geo-investigations throughout the North and across the UK. You will be the direct link between Geoinvestigate and our clients. You will gain hands on training from our experienced engineers who have considerable expertise in the industry. You will develop the skill set and mindset to investigate, evaluate and report on geo-environmental risk and deliver effective solutions for a wide range of projects of varying complexity.
Preferably candidates should have prior site investigation experience and/or a relevant geoscience MSc though this not a pre-requisite for applying. We are also looking for recent graduates with a good relevant geoscience degree in engineering geology, geotechnical engineering, geophysics, mining or environmental science.
Your Activities and Responsibilities include
Communicating with business clients.
Keeping up to date with developments and advances in the geo-environmental sector including current best practice, technical guidance and regulation..
Visiting sites across the UK and supervising a wide range of geo-investigations covering building subsidence, gas and land contamination, mining stability, slope stability, sinkhole mitigation and natural radon hazard.
Winning new clients by actively promoting the company and seeking out new business contacts and opportunities.
Providing job quotes and keeping within budget limits.
Ensuring job deadlines are feasible and are kept.
Identifying and mitigating hazards and risks both in the workplace, to Geoinvestigate as a business and in the technical services and advice we provide to industry.
Data collection, manipulation, analysis and its presentation in professional report form.
CPD or continuing professional development through in-house or external training courses, schemes and awards and membership of professional bodies.
